Yoga in your neighborhood
Movement for the People exists for all who want to make the practice of moving meditation an essential part of their work of building community and organizing for liberation:
The communal practice of yoga isn’t as accessible as it should be. We co-create welcoming spaces for people to practice yoga in their neighborhoods, partnering with local establishments and removing the barriers of cost, social bias, and geography.
At our gatherings you can expect:
A guided, moving meditation rooted in ancient teachings and focused on collective wellbeing and liberation
A focus on breath awareness and the power of mindful breathing
Soulful songs of joy, liberation, and revolution from artists, such as Tracy Chapman, Marvin Gaye, Nina Simone, and Mos De
Ancestral wisdom and grounding messages from visionaries, such as Grace Lee Boggs, Lama Rod Owens, and Octavia Butler that help us cultivate perspectives aligned with justice movements
