Liz began practicing yoga in 1993 and became a certified yoga teacher in 2001. Since then, Liz has facilitated trauma-informed yoga and mindfulness practices to support personal and systemic transformation through individual and collaborative connection, embodiment and healing. She has worked with youth and adults living with/affected by HIV; LGBTQIAA +, pregnant and parenting teens; people working in public health and health equity-focused research projects and coalitions.
As a cis-, white, queer woman, Liz is committed to moving in intersectional spaces that challenge the status quo and bring compassionate perspectives to the work of collective liberation. She engages in ongoing continuing education including trainings in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from the University of Massachusetts Medical School Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare, and Society; Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY) from the Center for Trauma and Embodiment; and somatic transformation from the Strozzi Institute for Somatics; and is currently training to become a Wellcoaches Certified Professional Health and Well-being Coach.
