KJ Ward is the founding organizer of Movement for the People. He has been a dedicated yoga practitioner for over 20 years and a Registered Yoga Teacher for six. In earlier chapters of his life, he was the director of a supportive services center for LGBTQ+ youth of color, a communications specialist with a management consultancy, a strategy consultant to liberation-focused nonprofit organizations. He has even been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists for local reporting.

Shaped by the teachings of many yoga and meditation guides along the way, KJ’s approach to mindfulness can complement the work of justice organizations and support the people who deliver on these missions.

KJ is a certified facilitator, and he holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in human development and psychology from the Harvard University Graduate School of Education.
