KJ Ward is the founding organizer of Movement for the People. He has been a yoga practitioner for over 20 years and a Registered Yoga Teacher for five, following his studies with Kali Alexander of Chocolate Twist Yoga. In earlier chapters of his life, he was the director of a supportive services center for LGBTQ+ youth of color, a communications specialist with a management consultancy, and a strategy and editorial consultant to liberation-focused nonprofit organizations. KJ is a certified facilitator and has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in psychology.

Informed by the teachings of his Buddhist guides from both the Insight Meditation Community of Washington and South Shore Insight, KJ’s approach to yoga can complement the work of justice organizations and support the people who deliver on these missions.
